Statistics Jersey takes the confidentiality and security of the data it handles very seriously. We are registered as a Data Controller with the Jersey Office of the Information Commissioner and are governed by the Data Protection Law (Jersey) 2018. The Statistics and Census (Jersey) Law 2018 contains additional penalties for any misuse of data collected under the law.

Statistics Jersey has strict protocols in place to protect personal and sensitive information. All Statistics Jersey staff members are required to sign declarations to faithfully and honestly fulfil their duties and to maintain the confidentiality of information encountered in their roles.

Statistics Jersey only publishes aggregated data; we never publish or release information on individuals. No personal or sensitive data provided to Statistics Jersey is shared with other public authorities. We apply disclosure control methodology so that no data is published that might identify individuals.
