Statistics Jersey has today published the June 2025 Labour Market report.

The total number of jobs in Jersey stood at 65,320, the highest figure recorded to date. This included 55,370 jobs in the private sector and 9,940 in the public sector.

Overall, total employment increased by 110 jobs (0.2%) compared with June 2024.

  • Public sector employment rose by 230 jobs (2.4%), driven mainly by growth in Government of Jersey core staff, particularly within Health and Care Jersey and Children, Young People, Education and Skills.
  • Private sector employment decreased slightly, down 130 jobs (0.2%) over the year.

Several private sector industries experienced annual declines, including hotels, restaurants and bars, construction, and retail, while increases were seen in private education, health and other services, financial and legal activities, and agriculture and fishing.

Compared with the pre-pandemic period (June 2019), total employment has risen by 2,810 jobs (4.5%), with the largest growth in the public sector.
