The Jersey Opinions and Lifestyle Survey
Islanders are at the heart of Jersey and their opinions matter. Every year Statistics Jersey, through the Jersey Opinion and Lifestyle Survey, asks about the experiences and opinions of Islanders to help inform Government policy. Since 2005, this survey has given tens of thousands of Islanders the opportunity to share what life is like for them and play their part in shaping Jersey’s future.
Topics and past reports
The survey collects detailed information on a wide range of social issues about Jersey with some questions being asked on a regular basis, while others reflect the needs of users at that time. It provides everyone in the Island with a better understanding of life in Jersey, primarily so that policy decisions can be made from a more informed standpoint.
For a comprehensive list of topics covered in previous surveys please see the following table (use the search functionality to quickly locate topics of interest).

The 2011 and 2021 rounds of the survey did not take place due to the Jersey census being held in the same year. Demographic information relating to 2011 and 2021 can be found in the relevant census report. Many of the health related questions normally covered in JOLS were included in the Health, Activity and Wellbeing 2021 Report.
